Generating Revenue
$260 million per month. That s the amount of Web site ad
revenue that is generated via email. And BlueTie supports the three
more traditional methods of advertising in this space: Display
advertising which utilizes leaderboard, skyscraper and vertical
banner ads. Text advertising that allows for more behavioral
targeting with such tools as tagline ads in email footers. Search,
driven by contextual targeting.
But only BlueTie can offer our partners a new and innovative way to
generate revenue with Featuretisements . Featuretisements is
a patent-pending model, which provides users with access to Web
services and e-commerce that are seamlessly integrated into the
application. These services feel like features instead of ads,
especially as they are part of the user s natural workflow.
Best of all, it generates additional revenue at a higher rate
compared to traditional channels for both BlueTie and our Web
publishing partners.

BlueTie Delivers Real-Time Business Data with the Release of
BlueTie Mobil | Press Release 2004 | BlueTie, Inc.
ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 19, 2004 BlueTie, Inc. a leading
worldwide provider of messaging and collaboration technology,
announces today the release of BlueTie Mobile; technology built on
the new WAP 2.0 standards, designed to enable mobile users to
access real-time data on a variety of wireless devices. BlueTie's
WAP 2.0 connects cellular phone, PDA, and other mobile users with
email, contacts, calendar, and task data in their BlueTie accounts.
The technology is built with XHTML on the front-end, under the WAP
2.0 Specifications from the Open Mobile Alliance. The application
communicates in real-time with the BlueTie Server, BlueTie's
award-winning collaboration and messaging engine. Users can connect
using their mobile phone, or using a PDA with WiFi or modem
connection.
"The mobile market is one of the most rapidly evolving technology
markets, with 3G deployments enabling end-users to have fast
Internet access on mobile devices, " said David Koretz, BlueTie
President and CEO. "Adding this technology to the BlueTie family
increases our technology lead, and opens the door to vast
international opportunities as well."
BlueTie expanded its international operations in 2003 to include a
facility in Sydney, Australia focused specifically on strategic
partnerships in Asia and the Pacific Rim. With the release of
BlueTie Mobile, the company will be announcing partnerships with
large mobile carriers that will bring this technology, along with
the entire BlueTie offering to the region.
WAP 2.0 was developed with three key goals in mind; quick retrieval
of data, ability to work on a wide range of mobile devices, and
ease of use. To achieve these goals, BlueTie employed the use of
new technologies including adoption of the XHTML standard for
application design and interface, a new session management system,
and a new series of function calls designed to intelligently reduce
the amount of data pushed to the mobile devices. These
technological advances vastly improve performance and provide a
colorful and graphic-rich interface that is available on WAP 2.0
compatible cellular phones, PocketPC devices, PalmOS-based devices,
as well as other mobile devices.
As with most technology releases from BlueTie, WAP 2.0 is available
at no additional charge to new and existing BlueTie users. "Today's
business users, and even consumers want to have instant, 24x7
access to the information they need, but are not interested in
being tied to a wired Internet connection, " said Koretz. "We
believe technology like BlueTie Mobile is the future of
communication and we are once again leading the way."

BlueTie Brings Collaboration to the Masses with Release of
DirectConnect for Microsoft Outlook
ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 03, 2004 BlueTie, Inc. a leading
provider of Web-based messaging and collaboration, announces today
the release of DirectConnect for Microsoft Outlook, the world's
first desktop application designed to connect Outlook with a
collaboration server directly over the Internet. The revolutionary
design of DirectConnect enables users to connect their Outlook
desktop software with the award-winning BlueTie Server, without any
hardware or server software.
"Small businesses want functionality above and beyond what they are
getting with their existing POP3 mail, but they do not want to
spend the thousands of dollars associated with setting up an
Exchange Server, " said David Koretz, BlueTie President and CEO.
"BlueTie DirectConnect is the first software application that
provides business class solutions without investments in hardware
or software."
With DirectConnect, BlueTie users have a real-time connection
between their BlueTie account and Outlook on the desktop. This
connection ensures, whether a user is accessing their email,
contacts, calendar and tasks via Outlook, remotely with BlueTie's
Web client, or on a mobile device, that their information is always
accessible. BlueTie provides users with virus and spam-free email,
shared calendars, contacts and files, tasks, instant messaging, and
more.
BlueTie Server, a highly scalable and reliable messaging and
collaboration platform, facilitates the operation of BlueTie's
suite of business applications and allows users to collaborate by
sharing calendars, contacts and files with other users. BlueTie
Server also allows for real-time connections to be maintained
between BlueTie's Web client, Outlook, and with the recent release
of BlueTie Mobile, a wide variety of wireless devices.
The first time DirectConnect communicates with BlueTie Server, all
of the data is replicated, providing an instant disaster recovery
solution in less than five minutes. Should the data in Outlook
become corrupt, or if the computer ever fails, the user can
continue working from any computer with Internet access.
Once the initial replication is complete, the system connects on a
regular basis to keep data identical in both locations. The user
can control the frequency the application runs, and exactly which
data is replicated.
The system utilizes a unique auto-updating mechanism that
eliminates the need to ever download new versions or upgrades.
Software updates are seamlessly pushed to users in the background,
without any user action required.
DirectConnect for Microsoft Outlook is compatible with Windows 98,
Windows 2000, and the Windows XP operating systems. The
DirectConnect client connects with Outlook 2000, 2002, and 2003.
"DirectConnect was the most ambitious and ground-breaking project
we have ever embarked upon, and the results are amazing, " said
Koretz. "We are now able to fulfill the needs of businesses that
have otherwise been priced out of the messaging and collaboration
market by Microsoft."

BlueTie Launches New Email 5.0 - Capable of Scaling to Tens of
Millions of Users
ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 18, 2004 BlueTie and finalsite
Team Up to Serve the Education MarketBlueTie, Inc.
(www.bluetie.com) a leading provider of Web-based messaging and
collaboration solutions, announces today the launch of its
completely redesigned back-end email architecture, Email 5.0.
Email 5.0 was developed to meet the growing need for
high-performance, business-class email for small and mid-sized
businesses and highly scalable email for service providers. With
this new email architecture, BlueTie meets both markets' needs and
establishes a platform that will take BlueTie's email application
into the next decade.
"Email 5.0 is the result of more than a year of planning and
development work by our engineering teams in both Rochester and St.
Petersburg, Russia, " said David Koretz, BlueTie President and CEO.
"The end-result is a platform that will easily grow as we add
millions of new users over the next several years."
Formerly relying on Windows technology, BlueTie's Email 5.0 was
migrated to Apache, UNIX, and C++, giving it the ability to
seamlessly scale to tens of millions of users and provides
sub-second performance even for users with gigabyte and larger
mailboxes. Email 5.0 is fully LDAP compliant and uses an indexed
file system, allowing BlueTie to offer larger mailbox sizes than
most email providers.
The release of Email 5.0 is the third major technology announcement
from BlueTie in 2004. In January, BlueTie launched BlueTie Mobile,
technology built on WAP 2.0 standards, designed to provide BlueTie
users with real-time access to their data via a variety of wireless
devices. And, earlier this month, BlueTie launched its
revolutionary application, DirectConnect for Microsoft Outlook.
DirectConnect provides users with a real-time connection between
their BlueTie account and Outlook on the desktop. As with these
prior releases, Email 5.0 is provided to all BlueTie users at no
additional charge.
"We have made amazing technological strides this year with the
release of pioneering applications such as DirectConnect and
BlueTie Mobile, " said Koretz. "And, now with Email 5.0 a reality,
we are looking forward to sealing several large partnership
agreements over the next few months."
